SBIR Opens New Funding Round to Fast-Track Small Business Innovation

The Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program has launched its latest funding cycle, inviting early-stage companies developing technologies in clean energy, advanced manufacturing, and health technology to apply. Successful applicants will receive Phase I grants to validate concepts and may advance to Phase II awards for prototype development and commercialization. The program also offers mentorship, access to federal lab resources, and opportunities for follow-on federal contracts.

This year’s round places special emphasis on partnerships with universities and support for underrepresented founders, along with streamlined application assistance. Virtual information sessions begin next week; full deadlines and submission guidelines are available on the SBIR portal.
